Terna confermata nella Gold Class della sostenibilità mondiale. La società che gestisce la rete elettrica nazionale figura al vertice tra le Electric Utilities nel ‘Sustainability Yearbook 2021’, la pubblicazione di riferimento curata da S&P Global, agenzia internazionale di rating che ha valutato le performance di sostenibilità di oltre 7.000 maggiori imprese mondiali per il Dow Jones Sustainability Index. In dodici anni di permanenza continua nel Dow Jones, Terna entra per la settima volta nella Gold Class e, con un punteggio complessivo di 90/100 è al vertice tra le utility elettriche, settore che ha registrato un punteggio medio di 43/100.

Questo primato, che giunge dopo il recente riconoscimento al primo posto mondiale per il terzo anno consecutivo nel settore Electric Utilities del Dow Jones Sustainability World Index, riconosce il ruolo di Terna quale regista e abilitatore della transizione energetica per una rete sempre più sostenibile, sicura e resiliente. La centralità della sostenibilità nell’azione di Terna è confermata dal Piano Industriale 2021-2025: in base ai criteri della tassonomia europea, il 95% degli investimenti previsti nei prossimi cinque anni sono per loro natura sostenibili.

La valutazione annuale di S&P Global, che analizza le performance di sostenibilità delle imprese internazionali a maggiore capitalizzazione, si basa su severi criteri economici, ambientali e sociali e su una review delle principali controversie. Le aree analizzate comprendono: gestione dei rischi, corporate governance, impatti ambientali, rapporto con la comunità, gestione delle risorse umane, stakeholder engagement, rispetto dei diritti umani e controllo della catena di fornitura.

Oltre alla presenza nel DJSI, Terna è inclusa negli indici internazionali di sostenibilità Bloomberg GEI, Euronext (World, Europe e Eurozone), FTSE4Good (Global e Europe), STOXX® ESG (Global, Environmental, Social e Governance), STOXX® Low Carbon, ECPI, ESI (Ethibel Sustainability Index), MSCI, United Nations Global Compact (“GC100”).

The company that manages the national electricity grid is the highest ranked of all the Electric Utilities in the ‘Sustainability Yearbook 2021’, the reference publication edited by S&P Global, the international rating agency which has assessed the sustainability performance of over 7,000 major global companies for the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. In its 12 years on the Dow Jones index, Terna enters the Gold Class for the seventh time, with an overall score of 90/100 points, it is ranked number one in the Electric Utilities sector, which recorded an average score of 43/100.

This record, which comes on the heels of being ranked number one for three years in a row in the Electric Utilities sector of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index, acknowledges Terna’s role as director and enabler of the energy transition for an increasingly sustainable, safe and resilient grid. Sustainability is confirmed as a core focus in Terna’s activities by its 2021–2025 Industrial Plan: based on the criteria of the European Taxonomy, 95% of investments planned for the next five years are sustainable.

S&P Global’s annual assessment, which analyses the sustainability performance of international companies with the largest market capitalisation, is based on strict criteria regarding economic, environmental and social performance, as well as a review of any significant disputes. The areas analysed include risk management, corporate governance, environmental impact, community relations, management of human resources, stakeholder engagement, respect for human rights and supply chain controls.

In addition to inclusion in the DJSI, Terna is also present in the following international sustainability indices: Bloomberg GEI, Euronext (World, Europe and Eurozone), FTSE4Good (Global and Europe), STOXX® ESG (Global, Environmental, Social and Governance), STOXX® Low Carbon, ECPI, ESI (Ethibel Sustainability Index, MSCI, United Nations Global Compact (“GC100”).
